Authy set-up for Office 365

App Install and activation

  1. Download the Authy app here https://authy.com/download/  (Direct Download "window 32bit" as seen below)
  2. The first time you launch Authy you will have to activate the application by providing a cell phone number and email. You will receive a one-time text message to the selected number to activate Authy. From the drop-down menu, select your country of residence, then enter your phone number in the field provided.Click Next
  3. Enter your company email on the following screen.
  4. Click Receive SMS message
  5. Enter the 6 digit code that was sent to you at the phone number you entered in step 2. Your app is now active an ready for use.




Add Office 365 account


1.  Go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup and login with your company email. 

      You will likely me prompted with a message that says  More Information Required, at this screen click Next.

 








2.  Select I want to use a different Authenticator App , then click Next twice.



3.  Since you can't scan a QR code with Authy, select Can't scan image? .

 

4.     Copy the code displayed in the Secret key field by clicking on the icon next to it. Keep this browser window open while you switch back to the Authy app.

 


5.     Click the red + button in the middle of the Authy app, paste the secret key in the box and click  Add Account.

6.     Enter Microsoft 365 as the account name and scroll down in the list until you find  Microsoft and select it. Leave the Token Length as 6-Digit and click Save.

7.     Go back to where you left off in your browser window and enter the 6 digit code without spaces from the Authy app, then click  Next.

8.     You should now see this screen confirming your successful setup.
